Convoy ideas

• The couple: the Porsche Cayenne for a modern look, the Mercedes-Benz S 350 for classic elegance, or the Land Cruiser V8 for presence.
• Parents and elders: the Toyota Alphard, with sliding doors and captain seats, so getting in and out in a long dress or a suit is easy.
• The bridal party: a Mazda CX-8 or Toyota Prado seats up to seven.
• Guests: the Toyota Coaster bus or a Toyota Hiace van, so everyone arrives together and nobody drives home after the reception.

The table above shows each car's daily rate and the all-in price for 3 days with our chauffeur in Nairobi. The minimum hire is 3 days, which suits most weddings: the day before for rehearsals and collections, the day itself, and the day after for the airport run.

Ruracio transport

A ruracio (bride price ceremony) usually means the groom's family travelling together, often upcountry, with gifts and elders. A Coaster or Hiace keeps the delegation together, an Alphard carries the elders in comfort, and a 4x4 handles the last stretch to a family home on paved roads. Tell us the route and we confirm it. If the home is along a murram road, tell us before you book and we will plan around it.

Planning the day

• Book early. December weekends go first, and the cars for the couple are the first to be booked.
• Give us a timetable, even a rough one: where each car collects whom, the church or venue, the photo stop and the reception.
• Name one contact person on the day who can talk to the drivers.
• Allow extra time for photos and traffic, especially on Saturday afternoons.
• Decorations: tell us what you plan when you book, and we will agree it with you.

Chauffeurs on the day

Our chauffeurs are vetted, long-serving members of our team. They arrive early, in clean cars, and they know the main churches, gardens and hotels around Nairobi. A chauffeur costs KES 4,000 ($31 USD / £23 GBP / €28 EUR) a day within Nairobi and KES 5,000 ($39 USD / £29 GBP / €34 EUR) outside, plus food and overnight accommodation away from Nairobi. How it works at Urban Escape

• Delivered anywhere in Nairobi and JKIA: JKIA arrivals, your hotel or your home. Delivery and collection cost KES 1,000 ($8 USD / £6 GBP / €7 EUR) each way anywhere in Nairobi.
• Flight tracking: add your flight number and your driver works to the real landing time. The evening before you land, we send your driver's name and number on WhatsApp.
• A video walk-round: we film the car with you at handover and again at return, and you leave with a written return receipt.
• 2019 or newer cars: every car is a 2019 model or newer, serviced and cleaned before each hire. In most cases you will know the exact car assigned to you in advance: your booking page shows it, with its licence plate and photos.
• A replacement car if the car has a manufacturer (mechanical) issue.
• 24/7 support: one call or WhatsApp message reaches a person, day or night.

The rules that matter

• Drivers must be 25 or over and have held a full licence for at least 2 years. We can sometimes waive the 2-year rule; ask before you book.
• The minimum hire is 3 days.
• Mileage is unlimited on every car.
• Paved roads only. Game drives only in our Land Cruiser Safari.
• No border crossing: our cars stay in Kenya.

Paying today

No credit card is required for checkout. You pay a refundable 30% reservation deposit within 2 hours of booking (card payment link or M-Pesa), and the balance when you see the car, by M-Pesa, bank transfer, credit card or cash.
